Original Watercolour Painting COUNTRY MEETS INDUSTRY

The shapes and forms of old our rich heritage of industry in the North West of England is a subject of fascination and visual interest to me. This painting shows a limeworks situated in the limestone pavement area of North Yorkshire.

Here I have used a limited palette of simply burnt umber and two types of blue, plus black to make the work.

Materials
The painting is executed with a combination of artists quality watercolour and gouache paint on heavy handmade watercolour paper which is size A3

For watercolour paintings, I use acid free hand made, cold pressed, archival quality textured watercolour paper, sized internally and externally, and sometimes with a gesso primer.

The paper used for this painting is 350 gsm,

Size of Painting is quite large for a watercolour, (A3 size) width 420mm x height 297mm (16 x 11 inches)
